Are you looking to connect to producers, farmers, ranchers, consumers, and more across the Alaska Food System? Join the network and join our gathering to see how we can support and uplift our communities to build a thriving and resilient food economy for generations to come.
The Alaska Food System Network Gathering brings together Alaska’s food community every quarter. These are hosted by the Alaska Food Policy Council. Our intention is for these gatherings to connect community leaders, farmers, food businesses, enthusiasts, and everyone in between. These were born from a desire for more frequent food system connections. October is the first of our meetings but our intention is for these meetups to foster collaboration, share best practices, and tackle Alaska’s unique food challenges and opportunities.
Our next gathering is on October 3rd from 11:30 AM to 1 PM via Zoom.
Each meetup features a different focus and the webinars will be based on the interests expressed to us by current Alaska Food System Network members. To kick things off, we’ll host an Advocacy 101 webinar with Alaska Food Policy Council’s Policy & Advocacy Director, Rachel Lord, and an educational presentation on HB251, the “Homemade Food Rule,” with Lorinda Lhotka from the Alaska DEC. Come ready to meet others working in the food system and learn with us!
