The Child Nutrition Coordinator is responsible for:
- Coordination of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP)
- Coordination of the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP)
- Coordination of the After School/Weekend Backpack Program (WBP)
- Coordination of the Meal to You Program (MTY)
- Supporting departmental initiatives and operational capacity as needed
Essential Job Duties:
- Organize and coordinate the operation of internal, State and Federal child nutrition programs.
- Conduct outreach, onboarding, training, and communication for program partners. Collect, organize, submit, and maintain program records for the purposes of meeting program requirements and external audits.
- Act as a subject matter expert on child nutrition programs for internal and external stakeholders. Participate as an effective partner with state agency stakeholders and community partners. Occasionally travel statewide and out-of-state for site visits, meetings, conferences, and advocacy efforts.
- Operate as part of the Programs Department, supporting departmental initiatives including Thanksgiving Blessing, the annual Agency Conference, and other mission-oriented programs as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Service orientation, a focus on providing positive experiences with our partners.
- Experience coordinating, operating, and managing Federal and State programs preferred.
- Vision and creativity in developing and managing child nutrition programs.
- Accountability and clerical organization for accurate reporting and value communication.
- Ability to work independently and with a team. Sometimes remote and self-guided.
- Focus on developing and maintaining professional relationships with a broad range of partners and stakeholders.
- Competence with word-processing, spreadsheets, and databases. Experience with Microsoft 365 Office suite beneficial.
- Sensitivity to and empathy with the needs of Alaskans-in-need and people from different cultures, marked by the ability to relate respectfully and effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Commitment to the organizational mission to end hunger.
- Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality.
- Valid AK Driver’s License and current vehicle insurance policy.
