The Division of Agriculture is hosting a listening session next week on Wednesday, October 16th, at 5:30 PM to gather input on the Southcentral Slaughterhouse closure.
Topics for Discussion:
– Impacts to livestock producers that were to use the facility this fall.
– Impacts to the end-user of that meat (retail, restaurant, etc)
– Options: On-Farm/Custom exempt, Mobile slaughter, Other Facilities
– Future slaughter facility considerations
– Future Direction and Solutions
