Let’s Cook! Project Coordinator
Responsibilities:

Organize 16 cooking classes featuring locally grown specialty crops, i.e., vegetables, herbs, and fruit, to take place in the winter months.

Serve as the point person for the class-related planning and communications, including identifying and contracting with teachers in the community, scheduling, outreach, registration, and post-class and follow-up surveys.

Design surveys to comply with the data required for reports to the grantor.

Collate and report class recipes and survey results.

Serve as point person for all class advertising and promotion, including emails to partners, submitting event info to online community calendars, print, and social media.

Track the budget and submit invoices to the KLFC treasurer.

Attend regular KLFC meetings to report progress and consult with the steering committee/board. This position reports to the steering committee at monthly meetings.

This position works closely with the Resilience Director and the Let’s Cook Demonstrations Chef to ensure coordinated scheduling and advertising of KLFC-sponsored events.
Additional Information:
This position is Project Coordinator for a grant awarded to Kenai Local Food Connection through a Specialty Crop Block Grant from the State of Alaska Division of Agriculture. The performance period is September 30, 2025, through September 29, 2026.
KLFC has a well-known presence, and many partners in the community. Most of the classes can take place in our community room at The Goods Mindful Food & Drink, in Soldotna. This is the second year of the Let’s Cook! program, so the protocols and systems have been set up and tested out, and many relevant partnerships are in place.
