Resilience Director – Kenai Local Food Connection

Organize classes and events throughout the year, including identifying likely local community-based volunteer teachers, advertising, enrolling participants, and hosting. These could potentially include baking, cooking, and food-preservation classes, peer support groups for farmers or parents, growing and harvesting workshops, children’s programming, a Spring Farmers Resource Fair and Ball, etc.

Administer surveys, making accurate counts, keeping participation records, and collecting feedback.

Develop community partnerships for collaborative programming: reach out to new potential partners each week, making positive contact with 4 organizations and 100 individuals monthly. 

Coordinate with various agencies, tribes, and the Goods for Stay Healthy! Food Box Program, including outreach, enrollment, and logistics for 16 weeks, feeding 22 households in mid-winter.   

Staff our KLFC Community Room at The Goods 20 hours per week. (The Resilience Director will have a desk and laptop in the Community Room.)

Design and deliver advertising campaigns to include social media, Constant Contact email, newspapers, radio, community calendars, and flyers.

Update the online KLFC calendar with events and classes. 

Care for the KLFC community room at the Goods, including organizing, scheduling usage, and sharing with collaborative community groups. 

Work with the KLFC steering committee to enroll new and continuing listings for the 2026 Kenai Local Food Directory, publish, and engage volunteers to distribute. 

Work with the board to distribute gift cards to active volunteers. 

Meet with supervisor weekly for guidance and oversight; report to the board monthly; and meet with the Project Team quarterly to plan and align activities.
