Farm Assistant Manager
The Skagway Traditional Council is seeking a qualified candidate for a farm assistant manager

Job Purpose
Skagway Traditional Council 1 acre farm is located at 2-mile Klondike Highway in Skagway Alaska. The primary purpose is to support the Farm Manager by assisting with daily operations, managing staff, overseeing projects, and ensuring the farm’s goals are met while contributing to the overall success and efficiency of the farm.

Wages & Benefits
Fulltime seasonal worker, working 32-40 hours per week.
Wages start at $23/hour
Shared housing may be available.
Not eligible for other STC benefits.

Duties and Responsibilities
● Collaborate with the farm crew to direct and carry out tasks and projects as assigned by the Farm Manager. Serve as a point of contact for questions and support when the Farm Manager is unavailable.
● Assisting with marketing and selling including sales area appearance, tidiness, organizations and advertising.
● Assist with coordinating, training, and supervising farm staff and volunteers ensuring efficient workflow and high morale and positive experience
● Handling all tasks from a farm-to-market operation, including planting, maintenance, harvesting, processing, and sales.
● Provide excellent customer services to customers
● Operate farm equipment such as riding mowers, weed eaters, tillers, and work trucks safely and effectively.
● Be able to lift, haul, move 40 lbs. daily
● Be able to keel, stand, and perform repetitive tasks for a long period of time.
● Be willing to work in all weather, rain, wind, or sun.

Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include:
● Must have good communication skills and ability to lead and motivate a team.
● Ability to work independently and have problem solving skills
● Must be able to kneel, stand, and perform repetitive tasks for hours at a time.
● Must be able to lift 40lbs, stand and or sit for a few hours at times.
● Must have a valid US Driver’s License & be able to pass a background check
● Prior experience in farming or agriculture is strongly preferred
