Recap Blog: October 2024 Alaska Food Systems Network Gathering

The Alaska Food Policy Council held our first gathering of the Alaska Food Systems Network on October 3rd. Held virtually, these quarterly meetings bring together community members, food system advocates, food producers, policy experts, and more from across Alaska to engage in meaningful conversations about the future of food systems in our state.
Highlights from the October Gathering
Each meetup features a different focus and the webinars will be based on the interests expressed to us by current Alaska Food System Network members.
To kick things off, we hosted an Advocacy 101 webinar with Alaska Food Policy Council’s Policy & Advocacy Director, Rachel Lord, and an educational presentation on HB251, the “Homemade Food Rule,” with Lorinda Lhotka from the Alaska DEC.
