Alaska has benefited from significant investments in local food production through the USDA’s Local Food Purchasing Agreement (LFPA) programs. These initiatives—LFPA, LFPA+, Local Food for Schools (LFS), and Tribal LFPA programming—have provided business support to Alaska’s farmers, fishers, and other food producers while increasing access to fresh, locally sourced foods for schools, food pantries, and communities across the state.
