2024 Dairy Margin Coverage (DMC)

The DMC is an important safety net program offered through the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) that provides producers with price support to help offset milk and feed price differences.

Alaska Farm Bureau: Bruce Willard Scholarship
DUE April 30

Alaska Farm Bureau will award up to two $2,000 scholarship(s) to a student pursuing an agricultural or natural resource field through college, trade school or vocational training. 

The program is available to students already enrolled in a college, trade school or in vocational training, as well as graduating high school seniors.  This is a one-time scholarship.

Okhíčhaŋye Scholarship -
Application Deadline April 30

Fifteen (15) scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $2,000.00 each for Native American high school seniors pursuing a degree that will support the Native agriculture industry.

Native American Agricultural Fund - 2024 Request for Applications: General & Youth

The grant seeks applications which support Native farmers and ranchers in the areas of business assistance, agricultural education, technical support and advocacy services, such as Business Assistance, Agricultural Education, Technical Support and Advocacy Services, Loan Capital,  Climate and Regenerative Agricultural Practices, and more.

Specialty Crop Block Grant Program
Due May 2

The program will fund projects that enhance the competitiveness of specialty crops and support specialty crop growers through marketing, education, and research. Specialty crops include fruits, vegetables, tree nuts, dried fruits, horticulture, and nursery crops, including floriculture.

AFMA-2024 SPECIALIZED MARKETING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

Alaska Farmers Market Association is pleased to announce the opening of its application for the 2024 Specialized Marketing Assistance program. Paying Members are elligible to apply for up to $1,000 for marketing and advertising costs such as radio, newspaper, signage, merchandise, printed material or other outreach materials. 

Regional Food System Partnerships

The program supports public-private partnerships that plan and develop relationships between local and regional producers, processors, intermediaries, and institutional markets or institutional food service operations through local and regional producers and local and regional food systems.

Farmers Market Promotion Program
Due May 14

The program funds projects that develop, coordinate and expand direct producer-to-consumer markets to help increase access to and availability of locally and regionally produced agricultural products.

Local Food Promotion Program (LFPP)
Due May 14

The program funds projects that develop, coordinate, and expand local and regional food business enterprises that engage as intermediaries in indirect producer to consumer marketing to help increase access to and availability of locally and regionally produced agricultural products.

The Local Food Purchase Assistance Cooperative Agreement Program (LFPA)
DUE MAY 15

The program uses non-competitive cooperative agreements to provide up to $900 million of American Rescue Plan (ARP) and Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) funding for state, tribal and territorial governments to purchase foods produced within the state or within 400 miles of the delivery destination to help support local, regional and underserved producers.

AgWest New Producer Grants
DUE May 31

This grant opportunity celebrates the ingenuity and passion of new producers and can help their dreams come to fruition. This program was developed for those who have a vision for their operation but lack the funds to put their plans into action.  Successful applicants will receive a one-time $15,000 grant to support their operation's growth.
